Outdoor Recreation here at Wright-Patterson is a uniquely organized outfitter that allows you to sit back, relax, and let us do the planning for you. We have a multitude of activities that are exciting, challenging, and educational for the beginner and expert. Here at Outdoor Recreation our programs provide you with the opportunity for many leadership, informational, and educational experiences month after month. If you can’t find a friend to go with, don’t worry, many participants sign up by themselves just so that they can meet new and exciting people who enjoy what they do while they’re doing it. Don’t know how to do it? Don’t worry about that either, our staff is highly trained and will ensure that you have an enjoyable time and learn what you need to know while doing it. All of our programs, unless otherwise specified, are suitable for the beginner.

MISSION AND VISION STATEMENTS

Our Mission here at Outdoor Recreation is to provide safe, expertly managed outdoor recreation programs that foster family as well as individual well-being, unit cohesion, and physical fitness. Our Vision is to have professionally trained outdoor recreation staff to provide a single point of access to information, equipment, and a diverse environmentally-sound program that showcases local natural resources.

GOAL

Our goal is to introduce people to the diversity, values, and benefits of outdoor recreation activities, to teach appropriate attitudes, behaviors, and skills for these activities, and to lead safe satisfying outings, activities, and programs. We provide information, referrals, equipment, recreation areas, and facilities to families, individuals, and groups interested in Outdoor Recreation.

SIGN UP INFORMATION

Sign ups for our trips are on a first come first served basis. Many trips will fill up fast and others will fill up slow. Sign ups for activities will end one week prior to the event beginning. To ensure you, your family, or group are able to participate in the outing, sign up early. Nearly all trips have cancellations at some point during the season (usually the week of the trip), so if the trip is full, put yourself, your family, or group on a waiting list and check for last minute openings.

REFUND POLICY

No refunds are given unless the outing is cancelled by Outdoor Recreation. If you decide to cancel we would like 48 hours notice. There is always a chance we can get someone on the waiting list to take your spot.

Outdoor Recreation and its subsidiaries are USAF Services activities and as such participation is limited to military, active and retired, DOD civilians, their dependents and guests.
